Hotpot Showdown - Riot Games
Riot Games wanted to find a new way for Taiwanese gamers to connect with their gaming squad this Lunar New year. So we mashed up two seasonal things they loved: variety game shows and food.
Idea: We remixed the traditional custom of eating hotpot during Reunion Day, where you and your loved ones reunite over hotpot and gamified it with League of Legends objectives, turning that into a 40-minute Taiwanese game show featuring famous streamers live on Twitch, Youtube and Facebook.
Turning the battlefield into a food menu, each monster slayed in-game gets the team a delicious plate of ingredients for your hotpot. Each objective was also carefully paired with each ingredient. For example, killing the scuttle crab in game would get your team a plate of king crab legs.
